on the day happiness first took flight

The day rain turned to gleaming light
when people were first shown delight
The day happiness first took flight
in a world where grey and gloomy weren't a sight

On the day when people were first shown delight
the darkness was overwhelming
In a world where grey and gloomy weren't a sight
the sun came, shiny and bright

The darkness was completely overwhelming
The night would never stop
Then the sun came in, shiny and singing
a tune of delight in the midst of people bathing in light
