"Last Time"

Before she passed,
Late at night,
In her room,
Brother next to me,
Mom next to her,
Mom worn down from helping.
Time for Grandma was getting close.
She hadn’t been awake for days,
She was pale,
Sleeping with uneasy breaths.
I knew in my heart there wasn’t a lot of time,
Didn’t want it to be true,
But the signs were there.
Goodnight, Grandma.
