If you are listening
I live just around the bend
By the river that’s glistening

Near the tree
Where we met
How young were we
When we caught fish with a net

Alongside the road
Where we first learned to drive
Now students come by the busload
To study how organisms survive

Right beside the old church
Where we went every Sunday
Oh how we would search
To stay away from Monday

Close by the bridge
That we fished on
Then walk to the ridge
And stay there ‘til dawn

So as time goes by
I remember these times
In June and July
When we would count our dimes
