"Nightmare"

In my dreams, as I scarcely remember,
Dark and scary like the ember,
Making my body shift and shake,
The thought of sleep keeps me awake.

As I start to drift, horror haunts.
As my eyes fall closed, terror taunts.
Sleep dares me to come closer,
But I run to a world past yonder.

Visions of death and blood are shocking,
Like a ball that is attacking.
What goes on in my mind
When the monsters come and I try to hide?

Dreams of a world likely to come,
A world of war and blood and guns.
This dream I dream is no life to endure,
But when horror knocks, we open the door.

In my dreams, as I scarcely remember,
Dark and scary like the ember,
Making my body shift and shake,
Oh no, you’ve come. It’s too late.
