If aliens came to Earth,
what would they see?
Would they notice the few national parks,
or the plastic in the sea.
Would they notice the shrinking forests,
or the sprawl of suburban growth.
Between you and me,
I think they'd notice both.

Would they chance the flowering fields,
or the land filled with debris.
Would they compliment the warming weather.
or run from the giant squall
Between you and me,
I think they'd see it all.

With those few national parks
and that plastic in the sea.
Don't forget the shrinking forests
from the homes of you and me.
Not to mention those flowering fields

They wouldn't dare compliment the warming weather
