"A Curious Night"

A light breeze carries drifting snow,
Trees now heavy, bowing low.
The rushing waters usually heard,
Breaking the silence was a cooing bird.
Deep in the forest, not yet at rest,
Animals rose to meet their guest.
Crackling of branches beneath the feet,
Animals wondered who they would meet.
Gazing from a boulder way up high
The prowling leopard focused his eyes.
A little creature passing through,
With a prowling leopard following too.
This little creature so gentle and nice
Did not notice all the staring eyes.
Up on this mountain so very tall
She and the animals saw it all.
It was a wonderful, beautiful sight,
As they all watched the Great Northern Lights.
