Scurry, nibble, nose twitch, hide.
Those are the instructions I hear inside.
No others know the steady beat
I follow as I move my feet.
Ear perk, climb up, higher than high;
Feels like I could touch the sky.
Smaller than small, faster than lightning,
Still there are those who find me frightening.
Heart pound, dodge paw, stay alive;
Here is my pressure to survive.
Those who die, they are the fools.
Those who live have these same rules:
Scurry, nibble, nose twitch, hide.
By these rules I must abide.
