Grief pulls you down deep
Slides up your spine and curls
Around your feet
Wraps around your mind so that
You can no longer think
Grief takes your happiness
like a highly skilled thief
like an alligator with two rows of sharp teeth
Don’t slip into the vicious jaws of stress and grief
