Why now do we text instead of communicating face to face?
Why do we only talk to family on holidays instead of calling every week?

Why now do pants hang below your waist and is not of good taste?
Why now saying ‘Yo Momma’ is a laughing matter
when not saying anything at all is better?

Why now when a rapper was famous for rhymes and not doing jail time,
they celebrate the crime instead of doing the time?

Why now when being ‘A Teen Mom’ was not something for a show
because it is a big responsibility and the baby has to grow?

Why now do parents have to drag you into church
instead of seeing church family on your own 
and allow your faith to carry you until you’re grown?

Why now can’t we say…

“May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to You,
O’ Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalms 19:14

WHY now?
