like a broken pencil
that you tape back up
only to spill out your feelings
on a piece of paper
that has always seemed
to listen better than the people around you
Sadness and love
released through tall tales
riddles
and lessons to be learned
Poems are a brief escape to a far off place
where nothing else matters
except the scribbles we call words
and we take a second to embrace
the impeccable beauty
that takes us away from reality
if only
