I look out my window in the morning
to see the little white blossoms swaying on your tree.
The gentle limbs guard you
and your sleeping soul.
Every time I see that tree dancing in the breeze,
I know you’re safe in heaven watching over me.
I know you stand above us,
but I can’t wait until we meet,
my sweet, darling Snowshoe.
You sleep in peace beneath the earth,
yet you soar free above us all.
Your body shall forever rest
in the shelter of your
dogwood tree.
