As I look around
I see black, white and mix
I wonder if I am known
Or just another little girl from St. Louis
As I look around
I see the poor and the rich
I wonder why such a divide
And, how did the world get like this
As I look around
I see the lights flashing in my face
I wonder what the hurry is
Even though there’s not a race
As I look around
I see how being famous can be
I wonder if it is worth the drama
Or is it better to just be me
I’m getting older and defining who I am
And I am saying
I AM HERE
